This framework is shared freely, as is everything we build on.
We write code on top of billions of lines written by others before us, passed down freely. We think using lessons learned by billions of people throughout history, passed down freely. This makes it our duty and honor to do the same for others.

We don't fear competitors copying this framework. We welcome it. The goal isn't to win by hoarding — it's to raise the standard for how human-AI collaboration is understood and communicated.
A doctor doesn't lose value by using an MRI machine. A pilot doesn't lose value by using autopilot. The value isn't in doing everything manually — it's in knowing when to engage, when to direct, and when to let the system work.
The same applies to AI-assisted work. The human value is in specification: defining intent precisely enough for systems to execute. In direction: choosing what to build and why. In judgment: evaluating whether the output meets the standard. In accountability: standing behind the decisions and the outcomes.
AI makes us faster — that means the client gets more done per hour, not that they pay for two workers.
The Three Values
HAI makes the invisible visible. Clients see what they’re paying for. Practitioners see where judgment lives versus where production happens. Bigger work means more specification, which means more clarity.
HAI’s sizing and assessment directly enable quoting, scoping, and delivering measurable results. The framework connects intent to delivery.
Every HAI retrospective is a learning event. Patterns accumulate. Practitioners get better at specifying, directing, and evaluating. The framework transforms with the people who use it.
